Warlocks are without a doubt, one of the most powerful World of Warcraft classes. They are one of the 2 pet classes in WoW and have abilities to summon Demons from the abyss to assist them in combat. Because of their immense destructive power and numerous abilities, they are capable of bring fights swiftly to an end. They are difficult to play in comparison to other classes, but they are very powerful in the right hands. A good chunk of the power of the warlock comes from Damage Over Time spells, or DoTs for short. Because of the combination of abilities they possess, warlocks are very mana efficient when compared to the other casters in the game.
Race Choices
Depending on which side of the war you are on, Alliance or Horde, you can choose Gnome/Human (Alliance), or Undead/Orc (Horde). For Alliance, simply go for the one you think looks best. There aren’t really much difference in between, although Escape Artist looks great on paper, but in practice doesn’t offer much benefit.
For the Horde, I’d highly recommend going for Undead. They have the best racial abilities, with Will of the Forsaken highly ranked. This provides excellent immunity from things like char, fear and sleep with last for 5 seconds.

Stats
Don’t focus too much on starting stats as you advance relatively at the same rate. Some stats differ for e.g. Gnome generally have more intelligence to start and humans have more stamina. These small differences are negligible. If you want to concentrate on PVP, then it is important to focus on Stamina as much as possible. How so? For every point of stamina, this equates to 10 health! Also bearing in mind Warlocks do not need a great amount of mana in comparison to other casters, with spells such as Life Tap to aid mana regeneration. On top of that, you have spells like Drain Life and Siphon Life to help your health.
